frequent questions

What are the artworks made from?

Each sculpture is hand-moulded from flesh-toned polymer clay. Oven-firing hardens the clay, which is then coloured to enhance the characters’ features. A range of different media is used to complement and display the pieces.

How long does an artwork take to complete?

It can take anywhere from 50 to 250 hours to produce a full-bodied Keogh piece, depending on the complexity of the concept. Near the upper end of that range was Gene, a 2003 Wallace Art Awards touring finalist. His thin blue veins and proud chicken skin took many hours to perfect.

How fragile are they?

No more or less than any other clay sculpture. All purchases are meticulously packaged by Sonia, who is more aware than anyone of potential vulnerabilities. Care instructions are included, along with a brush for light dusting. A stylish display cabinet is available for free-standing pieces at modest additional cost.

What if my artwork arrives damaged?

For peace of mind, you may wish to consider freight insurance. Quotes can be provided for New Zealand and international collectors. Should your piece arrive damaged, please contact Sonia immediately.

Return policy

It is important to Sonia that you feel completely satisfied with your artwork. If, for any reason, this is not the case, you may return your order within 30 days. If the piece is received complete and in its original condition by Sonia within that time, you will receive a full refund of the artwork price. All packaging, insurance and shipping fees are the responsibility of the purchaser. Please contact skulptor.com before returning any piece.
